Chelsea Goes for Back to Back Victories Against Leicester

Reigning champions travel to Stamford Bridge hoping to frustrate the Blues once more (12:30 p.m UK Time).
Chelsea had a terrible season last year and major changes were made in anticipation of a better performance in 2016. So far, the football club is still playing below expectations and is nowhere close of the podium. Missing the Champions League groups once again is inacceptable and that’s why they are under a lot of pressure ahead of this fixture. Leicester tries to prove that winning the trophy last year wasn’t a fluke, but so far they don’t play like reigning champions.
Ranieri Tones down His Expectations
Leicester won most of the games last season against the best teams in the Premier League by playing counterattack football. This year, they tried to do more and take the initiative but the strategy backfired badly. Ranieri has a lot of experience and won’t give in to pressure, but instead revert to the system. Against Chelsea, he should have enough opportunities to score on the counterattack.
Splitting points with Southampton wasn’t exactly what they had in mind, but not a bad result by any standards. Another draw at Stamford Bridge would be regarded as a triumph under these circumstances. This is the result the visiting team will be aiming for that and that’s why the starting formation seems a little bit defensive. They will still have two strikers up from and plenty of speedy midfielders.
Chelsea Footballers Crushed by Pressure
Back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against Arsenal and Liverpool left Chelsea fans with a bitter taste in their mouths. The inability to score against Hull in the first half was equally disheartening, but luckily for the Blues the home side suffered a complete meltdown in the second half.
This is unlikely to happen against Leicester, so unless Chelsea comes up with a better strategy they are unlikely to win this fixture.
