Complete European Football Betting OddsPublished August 11, 2009 by OCR Editor
It's that time of year again when all the big European leagues get underway, but as usual only a handful of teams in each country stand any chance of actually winning the title.
We bring you the odds favorites from the big European leagues: England, Spain and Italy.
In England, Chelsea has overtaken Manchester United in recent days as a slight odds favorite - the Blues are 3.10 at William Hill, compared to the Red Devils, 3.30, although both are 3.25 equal-favorites at Ladbrokes. Liverpool, (William Hill, 5.00, Ladbrokes, 4.50), Arsenal (William Hill, 10.00, Ladbrokes, 11.00), and Manchester City (William Hill, 12.00, Ladbrokes, 15.00) are the only other contenders.
As expected, there are only the usual two contenders in the Spanish La Liga, with Real Madrid hoping new signing Cristiano Ronaldo can help them recapture the title arch-rival Barcelona took from them last year. Barcelona is the bookmakers' favorite - 1.91 vs. 2.10 at William Hill, and 1.83 vs. 2.10 at VC Bet. Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are considered the next best bets.
In Italy, three teams stand a chance of winning the Serie A, and predictably it is the big three, who have won 61 titles between them. Inter Milan, winner of the last three Serie A titles, seems headed for a fourth if the odds are anything to go by - they are a 1.61 favorite at William Hill, followed by Juventus, 4.33, and by bitter cross-town rivals AC Milan, 5.00.
