Compliance Body eCOGRA Announces Proactive Testing ServicePublished October 30, 2015 by Lee R
Vulnerability and penetration testing are the latest support measures offered.
The London-based autonomous compliance body eCOGRA has developed a compliance testing service that empowers online gaming providers to preventatively avoid compliance errors, oversights, and failures.
New Testing Components
Components of the new testing service will provide operators with third party vulnerability and penetration testing which conforms to the leading regulatory jurisdictions in the world, such as those in the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain.
The new regime is made up of a number of specialized assessments conducted simultaneously at the operator, software provider, and host security layers
to preventatively identify any potential threats to the integrity of the participating organisation’s information systems.
In-House Specialist Support
In-house specialists will be offered from eCOGRA for the first time as well to support the testing and prevent any identified compromises from ever taking place, nipping potential breaches in the bud.
The CEO of eCOGRA Andrew Beveridge said of the expanded service that it was important for eCOGRA to be able to provide professional support as well as identify problems in a constructive approach which provided a “full suite of services required by licensing authorities...across multiple jurisdictions...without the need for our clients to involve additional third party contractors.”
The efficiency, constructiveness, and productivity of the approach cannot be downplayed. This transforms eCOGRA from another ad hoc regulatory body into a proactive compliance checker that addresses problems before they become regulatory or licensing issues.
The new capability of performing vulnerability and penetration testing are not the first in-house support services that eCOGRA offers, as other in-house services such as games and platform testing, RNG and RTP monitoring, information security audits and Alternative Dispute Resolution already are in place, rendering eCOGRA a veritable one-stop shop for compliance.
Meeting Operator Demand
These new services will be managed by eCOGRA's director of business development Shaun McCallaghan, who explained that offering vulnerability and penetration testing services was a direct response to demand from operators, some of which include Crazy Vegas Casino, 888 Casino and All Slots Casino.
