Consumer Protection Zone Proving a Big Hit at ICE for Responsible Gaming Benefits

ICE London is growing all the time, and the global representation in attendance is expanding exponentially as well.

The ICE London Consumer Protection Zone CPZ found inspiring support from sponsors to the tune of over a £30,000 raise thus far for responsible gambling organisations.

Donation Levels

CPZ sponsors to this point have exceeded the £30,000 mark in raising funds for charities and not-for-profit organisations, within initial contributions coming from 888 Holdings; ALEA; GVC Holdings Plc; Kindred; LeoVegas, and Videoslots.

Responsibility Driving Initiative

The need for a responsible gaming platform which can drive practical initiatives as as important now as ever before. Clarion Gaming's Industry Insight and Engagement Director Ewa Bakun introduced the CPZ to ICE London, and had this to say:

“The Consumer Protection Zone is a focal point of the ICE London show floor and is fully dedicated to responsible gambling and consumer protection. We are delighted to have such proactive sponsors who are directly involved in supporting a progressive and responsible approach to gaming. It’s encouraging to see so many operators getting involved with this initiative as the proceeds of the sponsorship will be donated to a charity, or a number of charities, which we’ll decide based upon our sponsors’ feedback as the fundraising continues in the run up to, and during, ICE London.”

Further Recruitment

Bakun further encouraged additional sponsors to join the ranks of those already in and leading the initiative, including expanding that sponsorship to regulators, research bodies, treatment agencies or commercial organisations.

The CPS Zone

Relocating as a high footfall area in Excel London's South Hall, positions the Consumer Protection Zone to host the international industry’s most forward-thinking Responsible Gambling organisations across a comprehensive agenda of presentations and discussions.

Responsible Player Journey

A key theme will the Responsible Player Journey, which passes through stages of game idea to design, through gameplay monitoring, interaction, intervention to self-exclusion and blocking.

Exhibition

The CPZ agenda is designed to showcase how technology can improve consumer protection tools by involving policy-makers and regulators to as the networking session for International Legislators.

CPZ exhibitors confirmed to date are comprised of Gamcare, Gordon Moody, Mindway, Sustainable Interaction and Young Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM).

Attendance

Last year's visitation of ICE London 2018 peaked at 33,536, a figure representing an 11 percent increase from 2017 and marked the seventh consecutive year of growth.

The ICE London brand has demonstrated an effectiveness in attracting gaming professionals from across the world, with growth from new regions surging, such as North America (+33 percent), Africa (+23 percent) and South East Asia (+18 percent).

Outlook

The new initiative targeting fundraising for protection is a promising indication that gambling revenues can be reinvested equally in production, public works, and private profits of operators.
