Things are warming up at the NASCAR Sprint Cup, both on and off the track.
NASCAR Feuds
Allegedly, it all started when Bowyer slid up to Gordon on Lap 305, at a point when they were head-to-head over fifth place. Later, Jeff Gordon tried to explain himself: 'Things just got escalated over the year, and I'd just had it,' he said. 'Clint has run into me numerous times, wrecked me, and he got into me on the back straightaway and pretty much ruined our day. I've had it, fed up with it and I got him back." Jeff Gordon was swiftly fined $100,000 and lost 25 Sprint Cup for assaulting an opponent. Although he has not been suspended, he is now on probation until 31st of December.
Another person on probation until the end of the year is Alan Gustafson, Gordon's chief and his crew chief was fined $25,000 for failure to control his team.
Both Gordon and Bowyer are due to compete in this year's final race on Sunday at Finaleon Sunday Homestead-Miami Speedway. Interesting times lie ahead.
