van Gerwen v. Part, partypoker World Grand Prix, 10:35pm local time tonight.
The partypoker darts World Grand Prix kicked off at Dublin's Citywest Hotel yesterday night with 32 of the sport's top competitors in attendance. The seven day £350,000 event requires competitors to hit a double on the beginning and ending of each leg. Eyes are set on ten-time winner Phil Taylor who started the event last night with a 2-1 win over Jamie Caven in a brilliant display.
Tonight's focus is the match between reigning champion Michael van Gerwen and three time world champion John Part. Both players arrive in great condition having carried a good performance up until now so the match should be good. Michael van Gerwen is a shining star in the world of darts, having won 10 titles since his win last year in 2012's World Grand Prix. However it remains to be seen how the Dutch will deal with the doubles.
The curiosity is doubled with adversary's John Part's known skill for hitting doubles. Part's 20 years of experience in professional dart events is also to be taken in account and even if van Gerwen will show up at his best shape, it will be a real battle to behold.
Bet365 Sports is offering the following odds for Match Winner: 1/6 for Michael van Gerwen and 4/1 for John Part. Other betting options include First 180, Total Sets, First Leg Winning Double and others. The match will be streamed live on Bet365 along with a line of other matches in the World Grand Prix.
