Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Hits Cinemas

Sci-fi movie fans are delighted this weekend as the long-awaited Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits cinemas across the world. A sequel to the successful "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" reboot from 2011, the new film is the eighth in the franchise. Directed by Mat Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russel and Gary Oldman among others.

Positive Reviews

So far, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has met critical acclaim from reviewers. Film review site Rotten Tomatoes praised the film for its "Intelligence and emotional resonance to match its stunning special effects". The Hollywood Reporter has gone gone really far, its critic claiming that the film to its predecessor is what "The Empire Strikes Back" was to Star Wars.
