The Don is joining in the ever expanding world of online gaming in America.
Billionaire developer Donald Trump, a/k/a "The Don," has partnered with online gaming giant Ultimate Gaming with the intention of operating a range of real-money casino games in New Jersey. This potentially powerful online gaming partnership was made possible by the recent signing into law legalizing internet gambling in New Jersey which, under the governorship of Chris Christie, is now the third U.S. State to legalize it.
It is widely predicted that there will be an internet gambling boon, creating the largest expansion of legalized gambling in the Garden State since its first casino went into operation back in 1978.
Joining the Online Gaming Gold Rush
Ivanka Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump and Executive Vice President of Development & Acquisitions at the Trump Organization, recently told Bloomberg, "Given the way online gaming is rolling out on a state-by-state basis, we really want to keep our options open."
Having emerged from a bankruptcy in 2010 that left him a minority investor with no management role but in control of his name usage for online gaming, Trump and Ultimate Gaming have held talks with Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza hotel with the intention of operating a fully functional online gaming market.
Despite this minimizing of his business role, Trump will still have a hand in what is almost certainly guaranteed to be a very lucrative deal by signing an agreement with Ultimate Gaming. Estimates are there is a $3 billion casino market in New Jersey that Trump and his partners are hoping to tap into.
