Dortmund vs Liverpool in the Europa League Quarter-finalPublished April 7, 2016 by Sol FH
The Reds travel to the Westfalenstadion tonight to face Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter-final match, live at 20:00 GMT.
The Westfalenstadion is not a mystery to Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp. In fact the German was at the helm of Dortmund for seven years and took the team out of bankruptcy, to the top of the Bundesliga in 2011 and 2012. They are now under a new coach and they are second place in the German league, but Klopp is confident that his Liverpool squad will give Dortmund a run for their money.
For Liverpool, this will be a very tough first and second leg. Probably tougher than any other team faces in the Europa League quarter-finals, but if they can succeed tonight, they will be in a better place for the next match at Anfield next week.
The Reds are unbeaten in the Europa League so far this season, having knocked out Manchester United in the previous round. Beating United was a great achievement, and proved to the fans and players that Liverpool can win in the clutch.
Klopp is looking for a victory tonight, but so is Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel has already warned his players that Klopp's crew will come out firing whenever and wherever they can.
Both teams are healthy and looks like they will have all player's available. Mats Hummels, IIkay Gundogan and Sokratis Papastathopoulos all took part at practice earlier this week and look like they are ready to play tonight. For Liverpool, good news is that Roberto Firmino has travelled to Germany and will be on the bench if he is needed.
