A key speaker interview has taken place ahead of BiG Africa Supershow 2019 with DR Gaming Technology Global Marketing Head Duncan Pollock.
Duncan's Vision
From his Cape Town headquarters, Duncan heads up marketing at global gaming and jackpot systems service provider DRGT according to a vision of “developing and delivering the best gaming technology that puts the player first.”
Duncan's Background
Duncan's experience ranges across exhibitions at gaming shows from Las Vegas to London to Sydney to Peru and Macao. His wealth of gaming and marketing expertise is culled from more than a decade with Sun International Casinos plus 8 years with Grand Parade Investments (LPMs and Sports Betting).
DR's Growth
Duncan talked candidly about the significant worldwide growth of DR Gaming Technology worldwide over the past 15 years since Michiel (van Dam, CTO) and Jurgen (De Munck, CEO) started the company “out of a garage.”
Foundations of Success
Duncan cited the initial cultural strength as a sense of shared ownership among the group, as a culture was established where “everyone just jumps in and gets whatever is required done.”
This has led to a lean and independent operating model allowing all members to “be flexible, make quick decisions, and move on them.”
DR's Sustainability
Duncan pointed to the strong organizational service network on the African content which they have developed as signs of the sustainability of DR, with the network now embracing Gold Rush Group, Millionaires Gaming Africa and Caesars Entertainment's Emerald Resort and Casino and Sun International.
Key Movement in Africa
He called the key characteristics of the African gaming market in comparison to the rest of the world “the concerted effort regulators in Africa are making through organisations like GRAF (Gaming Regulators Africa Forum) to develop and implement legislation to better govern and control African gaming markets.”
Duncan's Speech
As for his role in Big Africa discussing “how to make gaming more entertaining at the BiG Africa Supershow this year, Duncan called the most entertaining component for players a sense of feeling welcomed and valued, calling key extras such as “Jackpots, draws, bonusing, shows and other events” components which “should be tailored to specific players or groups of players needs based on well researched trends and behaviour.”
