DraftKings recently announced that it has secured a new partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL), in which it will become their official betting, fantasy, and iGaming partner.
Some great news for hockey fans as DraftKings won the partnership with the NHL to become its betting partner, fantasy sports operator, and iGaming partner.
This isn’t the only deal that Zynga has reached, as the operator also recently partnered with Turner Sports to offer an exclusive sportsbook and fantasy sports for all of its NHL coverage.
Under the details of the partnership, DraftKings will be given access to league assets, including being able to use NHL logos and symbols, as well as creating themed events and promotional initiatives during the NHL season, the All-Star Weekend, and the playoffs.
DraftKings will also need to provide Turner Sports with sports betting information and daily fantasy sports on Turner’s coverage of the NHL and Bleacher Report digital channels.
The plan is to use DraftKings’ wagering odds and daily fantasy data, original content, automated alerts, and written content.
For the Fans
It is the hockey fans out there that really benefit from this partnership. Zynga is an extremely reliable and well-known company and has raised the bar on betting, fantasy sports, and iGaming over the last few years. The NHL had to choose from dozens of qualified operators but at the end of the day, Zynga cannot be overlooked for its reach, engagement, and ability to scale.
“Our agreement with DraftKings expands and strengthens our relationship, allowing us to further serve fans with the type of sports betting information, entertainment, and quick-resolving betting options that we have pioneered,” commented Raphael Poplock, senior vice president of strategic partnerships at Bleacher Report.
Jason Robins, chief executive, chairman, and co-founder of DraftKings, also commented: “Over the years DraftKings has become a brand synonymous with sports, with a fan-first approach through real-money gaming options, and we look forward to collaborating with the NHL alongside Turner Sports and Bleacher Report to provide hockey fans with what’s next in sports.”
