Moneybookers is a leading online payment method for online casinos.
Moneybookers, one of the world's leading eWallet payment systems, has confirmed recent rumors by announcing that it is rebranding itself as "Skrill" later this year.
Introducing SkrillAccording to the company, Skrill is an informal term for money, but it hopes that customers will soon understand it as safe and innovative way for consumers to make deposits at online casinos.
Skrill will offer enhanced payment facilities that build on the precedent set by Moneybookers, the company said on its website.
Under the new regime, consumers will be able to send payments to anyone without revealing any financial details. There will be no need to repeatedly enter card numbers, expiry dates and other details. And options for funding an account will include credit card, debit card or bank links.
Moneybookers remains for time beingFor the moment, Moneybookers is still available to both new and existing customers. Those already signed up will receive all the benefits of membership and will be the first to have the opportunity to upgrade to Skrill when it goes live.
Moneybookers is already one of the leading online payment methods, so Skrill will have a lot to build on. It won numerous plaudits in 2010, including the EGR award for Payments Company of the Year and 12th place in both the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 league table and Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50.
