EFL Cup: Manchester United vs Burton Albion

Manchester United host an important match against Albion tonight at 20:00 GMT.
The League Cup continues tonight with a match between Man. U and Albion. Fans of the latter look at matches with United as a chance to relive some glory of years passed. This will be the third time that these teams have met and the first time since 2006, wherein Albion pulled-off some magic in the FA Cup. They took United to a third-round replay and held them to a 0-0 draw. Then, Sir Alex Ferguson substituted in Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney but nothing worked.
The fact of the matter is that Manchester United does not do well against lower-league teams at Old Trafford. They have lost two out of their last three matches under these circumstances in the EFL, the last time losing in penalty shots to Middlesbrough in 2015. Sure, United came back to beat Burton 5-0 in the replay with goals from Louis Saha, Kieran Richardson, Ryan Giggs and a pair by Giuseppe Rossi, but United must take these matches seriously.
They have had success in the EFL, as they should, making it to the fourth round in eight of the last nine seasons. In 2014/15, they lost to the surprise winner, MK Dons 4-0 in the second round.
Nigel Clough, Manager of Burton Albion knows that he has an uphill battle ahead of him but is still a man of great character, "We can't fill the dressing room with million-pound players but we can fill it with good characters," he said. "I hope they don't beat us by too many," he continued.
