This year's Excellence in iGaming Conference that took place in Berlin from October 21-23 enjoyed a record-setting number of visitors in Berlin's start-up hub. A highlight was the lively debates among various leaders of the industry.
Wide Innovation
With over 1500 gaming professionals attending, the Clarion-sponsored event was marked by significant updates to last year's events.
The new format took place in a so-called “edgier” venue that featured the dual themes of disruption and innovation driving change in today's iGaming Industry. The event's placement in the middle of the exhibition space was welcoming to both debating about the topics of the industry today and also as a venue for effective networking.
Multitask Venue
The new format was particularly pleasing to exhibitors, who could market and network at the same time. Yandex's Tatyana Mykhalchenko from Yandex expressed happiness at how much the new layout afforded her company lads for the future.
Things that made her and other exhibitors happy included absorbing sessions under the Outwise-In agenda that offered fresh perspectives in emerging areas like customer retention, behaviour and engagement. Further highlights included the diverse array of speakers that included Clive Humby, Chris Searle, Don Daglow and other industry innovators.
Record Audience and Speaker Highlights
The event was uniquely streamed live through the Clarion on-site blog via Tumblr, bringing a record-level audience to the show. The blog content was diverse and engaging, with articles, photo galleries, and video round-ups interspersed among live reactions posted through Twitter and other participating social platforms.
The speaker list was highlighted by customer retention pioneer Clive Humby, who urged all EiG 2014 attendees to see through the myths about loyalty programming to tap into the true sources of passion to stimulate customers and engage users in the iGaming industry.
Humby's expertise stems from his experience as the chief architect of the wildly successful Tesco Clubcard and segmentation programme that brought the supermarket's reach to a new stratosphere.
Humby was one of many hits among the speakers, networking and workshop that came off grandly this year in Berlin for EiG 2014.
