Chelsea, Tottenham in box seat as draw for UEFA's secondary tournament announced
The UEFA Europa League, Europe's second biggest continent-wide football tournament after the Champions League, has announced its quarter-final draw, and the English sides are in the box seat in online betting.
Europa League odds
William Hill Online has released its title odds following the quarter-final draw, and it looks like this: Chelsea, 2/1, Tottenham Hotspur, 9/4, Portugal's Benfica, 5/1, Italy's Lazio, 13/2, another Prem League side in Newcastle, 9/1 Russia's Rubin Kazan, 16/1, Turkey's Fenerbahce, 20/1, and Switzerland's Basel 25/1.
The four quarter-finals take place over two return legs on April 4 and 11, with the four winners progressing through to the semis. Tottenham are hot favourites to defeat Basel, as are Chelsea to beat Kazan. The two legs between Benfica and Newcastle, and Lazio and Fenerbahce are shaping up as close battles.
New pre-match bets
In addition to a selection of the usual 180 pre-match football betting markets, William Hill have gone and created one more combined market - named Match Result & Both Teams To Score. Pick any game in which you believe both teams will score and then predict the result - home win, away win or draw.
Hill are yet to release the first MT-BTTS (yes, there's even an acronym for it!) odds for the Europa League or UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, but these will appear well in advance of the game. At present, odds for this special wagering option can be found for this weekend's English Premier League games.
