Euro 2016 Semifinals: Preview and Odds

Sol FH. - July 6, 2016

The Semifinals get underway tonight with the match between Portugal vs Wales and Ronaldo to meet Bale at the Stade de Lyon at 20:00 GMT.

There are now only four teams left in the 2016 Euro from France and what a tournament it has been so far. The Quarterfinals were as incredible as one would have ever hoped and the action is only getting started. Portugal vs Wales and France vs Germany are the Semifinals and tonight gets started with teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale going head to head for a berth to the Finals.

Portugal vs Wales

Neither Ronaldo nor Bale believe that they are the reason that their team have made it this far. It may be due to the lopsided bracket in which they definitely had the easier draw, but both teams have been excellent so far. "It's not about two players, it is about two nations in a semi-final, 11 men against 11 men," said Bale. This is the first time that Wales is in a semifinal in a main competition and the world's most expensive footballer, Bale, is ready to help take his team all the way.

As teammates, Bale and Ronaldo have created an incredible attacking approach when on the pitch together. With French star Karim Benzema giving support, the trifecta of soccer greatness is virtually unstoppable. But the national teams do not always have a roster jam-packed with star players, in fact most of the players on the teams are not well known. Despite matches where the odds were against both teams, they proved that they deserve to be in the Semi's, and a win tonight will give at least one team a ticket to the Finals against either Germany or France playing in the second Semi Final tomorrow night.

Bet365 Sports is offering competitive odds ahead of tonight's match with Portugal out in front at 2.20, while Wales is not too far behind at 4.00. If the match ends in a draw after 90 minutes, bet365 is offering 3.10. There are an additional 132 betting options available at the UK-based sportsbook including Goalscorers, Method of Victory, Scorecast and many more. There are live in play odds throughout the entire match, which gives punters a real chance to make extra cash on individual bets as the game is played.

Germany vs France

The second match of the Euro 2016 Semifinals is between the two best teams of this year's tournament. In any other year, this would make for an excellent Final, but we are lucky enough to see the action on Wednesday Night at 20:00 GMT. Few teams have as much history as do France and Germany with the sides meeting 27 times. France is winning the all time win/loss record with 12 wins, while the Germans have 9.

Germany are looking to clean sweep major international competitions with their huge victory at the 2014 World Cup. If they can get past France tomorrow night, they will face either Portugal or Wales and neither of those teams have much of a chance against the Germans. The home nation and the visitors bordering to the North-East have not lost in a long time. France is going into tonight with an 8 win and 1 draw record and the Germans are unbeaten in six games.

Germany have definitely had a more difficult road to the Semifinals, needing to defeat the Italians in Penalty Kicks, while France demolished Cinderella story Iceland 5-2.

Bet365 Sports is your home for the Euro and for tomorrow night's matchup between Germany and France, the odds are very tight. France has a very tight lead at 2.80, while the Germans are at 3.00. Bet365 is also running an attractive offer for Penalty Kicks. If a punters team is eliminated due to Penalties than they will get a full refund back on bets. They also have the popular Bore Draw Money Back offer for anyone that wants to try their luck.
