Europa League Quarterfinal 2nd Leg: Liverpool vs. Dortmund

Liverpool vs Dortmund in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal matchup, with action from Anfield at 20:05 GMT.

Jurgen Klopp walked back into the stadium that he helped build last week, as a severe underdog. Liverpool’s chances of winning the first leg were slim according to virtually all online sportsbooks, including bet365. Well, they didn’t win, but they didn’t lose either, and have made things even more difficult for Dortmund after the Reds scored an away goal to end the match 1-1.

It’s Liverpool’s Game to Lose

Now at home for the second leg, the Reds are once again on the verge of a huge win and everyone feels it in the air."We've been presented with a great chance," said Klopp at a press conference when asked about what they feel like going into the second leg. Both Dortmund and Liverpool are capable of better soccer than what was played in that first leg, but playing at Anfield gives the Reds a huge boost, if simply due to the incredible atmosphere therein.

It is almost certain that the only way for Liverpool to gain access to next year’s Champions League is to win the Europa League. They are nine points away from fourth place in the Premier League, so a win tonight is crucial.

Dortmund didn’t look like the same squad during the first leg. They also struggled in the Bundesliga over the weekend, being held to a draw against Shalke 2-2. Tuchel’s side must win tonight, or at least draw 2-2 in order to advance. The fact that Liverpool are unbeaten in the last 15 UEFA home matches against German teams makes Dortmund’s chances even slimmer, but bet365 still has them as favorites.

Big Betting Opportunity for Punters

bet365 Sports has posted odds in favor of Dortmund at 2.40. This is the time to place a bet with Liverpool at 3.00 or on a draw at 3.60. I predict a Liverpool victory tonight with the match ending 2-1 in favor of the Reds. Punters can choose from dozens of pre-match and live in-play odds to maximize profits.
