First Image of Ben Affleck as Batman Posted

A sneak peek from the next Batman film, posted by movie director Zack Snyder on his Twitter account yesterday, has spawned a lot of attention with the specific tweet being re-tweeted 42,556 times. The picture shows the next actor who will portray Batman, Ben Affleck, as the famous superhero. This can be seen clearly by Affleck's signature chiseled jawline which is seen in the photo, standing by the iconic Batmobile. The photo has already been dubbed "Batfleck".

Affleck's casting to the role was controversial, meeting a lot of criticism coming from Batman fans and movie aficionados in general. The prestigious role was filled in the past movies by actors like George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton and Christian Bale who has starred as the world's most famous bat in the Dark Knight trilogy from 2005-2012, directed by Christopher Nolan.

The photo shows a dark and moody Batman which might change the minds of some of the casting decision's critics. Affleck will star as Batman in the 2016 movie alongside Henry Cavill who will portray Superman and Jeremy Irons who was cast as Batman's butler, Alfred. A move which has raised many more eyebrows was Gal Gadot's casting as Wonder Woman, due to the model-actresses' scant experience in filling such major roles.
