On the 31st of July, all gambling professionals can attend an exclusive event in the Georgian resort of Batumi for Casino Investors Day summit. Currently, Georgia has established 6 land-based casinos in Batumi, which are already garnering revenues in the tens of millions per weekend. With plans for 8 more casinos by the end of 2017, and leading hotel chains such as Sheraton, Hilton, Radisson, Kempinski adding luxurious accommodations there, Batumi is starting to look like the Las Vegas of the East. Another $1.2 billion is currently invested in another 23 hotel development projects as we speak.
The expansion is not limited to land-based operations. Georgia is also developing its regulations for online gambling.

Batumi has significant visible benefits for casino business expansion. There is a ban on gambling in neighbouring countries, so a lot of regional traffic is centralized, with easy access due to the close proximity of the Batumi international airport, seaport, railway. Regulation is relatively modest in the country's gambling sector at this point as well, with preferences readily available for taxes and permits for new operators.
