jungleman12 earns some $5.5m in to edge out fellow online poker pros.
Full Tilt star Dan "jungleman12" Cates has topped the money list of online poker pros in 2010, bursting clear of the field with earnings of $5.5 million throughout the year.
Cates was already well ahead of the rest of the field leading into the New Year's holiday when he won more than $500,000 in one long session of $300/$600 half no-limit Texas Hold'em/half pot-limit Omaha cash games.
Beating the CompetitionIn a big year for Full Tilt Poker, Cates beat out three other members of the leading online poker room for the money title, with Norwegian Andreas "Skjerboy" Torbergsen hitting $3.7m, Tom "durrrr" Dwan $3.6m and big name Phil Ivey recording $3 million to round out the top four.
Following his runner-up finish at the 2010 Aussie Million 100k event Ivey rocketed to the top of the all-time money earnings list for poker pros. According to the Hendon Mob's list, the 34-year-old Las Vegas native has made a total of $13.86m in his career, ahead of second-placed Canadian Daniel Negreanu, who has made $13.12m.
Negreanu's PokerStars high-performing colleagues made considerably less than the best of Full Tilt in 2010. Vanessa Selbst took $2.87m in live winning for the year, followed by Liv Boeree with $1.83m. Here's a look at Liv.
