Audley Harrison set to compete for world heavyweight champ in November.
Full Tilt Poker has found another positive way of making the headlines, after signing a new sponsorship deal with former Olympic gold medal boxer Audley Harrison.
The two parties reached the agreement just ahead of British boxer Harrison's World Heavyweight title fight against compatriot David Haye in Manchester next month.
Major Boxing EventsAs part of the deal, Harrison will represent the website online and at several major tournaments, while Full Tilt's brand will be given prominent advertising space during the title bout, to be held at the MEN Arena on November 13. Harrison himself will also sport Full Tilt's famous logo.
Harrison is no stranger to the game of poker, having won more than $200,000 in a career that includes two cash prizes at World Series of Poker events and a second place finish at the World Poker Tour's Bellagio Cup.
"I fell in love with poker while living in Las Vegas and have spent time learning how to play the game from the professionals who reside there," he said.
Olympic GoldHarrison, who will turn 39 a couple of weeks before his title fight against Haye, reached the pinnacle of his career at the 2000 Sydney Olympics when he became the first British boxer to win Olympic gold in the super heavyweight division.
Harrison became European heavyweight champion in April 2010 and now has the chance to become world champion, providing he can get past current title holder Haye.
