Mare Balticum Gaming Summit 2018 Announces GDPR Compliance Panel

The GDPR compliance panel will focus on three major changes that stem from the new regulation and stand to have the biggest influence on the companies.
The deadline for the companies to show compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is approaching quickly, with everyone having to be able to demonstrate the compliance with these new provisions by May 25, 2018. In light of this fact, Mare Balticum Gaming Summit 2018 has announced a new panel fully devoted to GDPR compliance, scheduled to take place on May 8 at Astor Riga, Latvia.
Three Important Changes
Although GDPR is set to bring many changes, the experts believe there are three areas which will be particularly impacted and these will be the focus of the GDPR compliance panel at this year's Mare Balticum Summit.
The first important change coming with GDPR is Internal Governance and Responsibility, which will have companies keeping close tabs on their data processing activities. The second change has to do with security breaches, which were quite common over the past few years, and the companies often took their time coming out with the reports about the breeches. With new regulations, these reports must be submitted within 72 hours.
Finally, there is the Data Portability provision, which will entitle any user with the information inside the database to request the copy of said data and have full insight into what kind of data is collected. With this provision in place, users will have full control over their information and this will stop companies from gathering the data they have no consent for.

The panel, entitled “Countdown to GDPR – The eminent changes GDPR bring to the industry,” will be moderated by Tal Itzhak Ron, and he will be joined by several other experts from the legal niche and the gambling industry, bringing wealth of valuable information with GDPR almost at the door.
