The World Cup is still two years away, Euro 2012 finished last month, but for those who can't get enough there is more international football action coming up at the London Olympic Games.

London 2012 Football

Sixteen countries are competing in the men's football tournament and 12 in the women's tournament, and as a matter of fact preliminaries already got underway just before the Opening Ceremony on July 27. The men's teams are made up of under-23s plus three more players, but there are no age restrictions on the women.

Team GB is participating in the men's tournament for the first time since Munich 1972, bringing together the best young players from around England and Wales (but not Scotland), and then adding stars Welsh stars Ryan Giggs (as captain), and Craig Bellamy, plus English national team player Micah Richards.

Where to Bet

William Hill, bet365 and 888 online sportsbooks are all offering odds on the results of both the men's and women's football tournaments. Hill also has wager options on group winners, individual goal scoring performances, head-to-head fixtures, plus a number of Team Great Britain specials.

888sport has also relaunched its 88 th minute promo especially for the Olympics, promising to compensate any player the amount of their bet if a late winner is scored that prevents them from collecting on their initial wager. Just bet at least €/£/$5 in the Two Win (90 Minutes), Last Goal Scorer or Correct Score markets, and if either team scores after 88 th minute and cancels your win, you receive a free bet of up to €/£/$50.
