Halloween Comes Early this Year with New Microgaming Slot

The new Halloween slot does an excellent job of transferring the spooky atmosphere of the original movie onto the reels thanks to many original film elements.

Following on the recently signed licensing agreement, Microgaming has completed the development of the new slot based on the 1978 horror classic Halloween. The game should shortly be available at a number of Microgaming-powered casinos and it will certainly appeal to all the fans of the franchise as the company once again did a great job transferring the movie plot onto the casino reels.

Face Your Fears

The Halloween slot takes you inside a derelict, abandoned house haunted by the titular character of the movie, Michael Myers. The dark atmosphere created by the absence of light and old objects scattered around the house is emphasized by the chilling soundtrack playing in the background and sudden sound effects that will help create the feeling of unease. If you're looking for a game to relax with, this isn't the one.

Reels are populated by symbols you'll recognize from the original movie. All the main characters are there, including Annie, Laurie, Lynda, Loomis, and, of course, Myers himself. Other than these high paying symbols, there is also an old telephone, a clown mask, a gun, and a knife. All things combined, the new Halloween slot will take you on an exciting, chilly ride that isn't suited for those faint of heart.

Plenty of Interesting Features

From the gameplay standpoint, Halloween offers a lot as well. There are 50 paylines spread across five uneven reels, with the Wandering Reels feature always ready to kick in in the base game. The Wandering Reels contain Jumbo Blocks with high paying symbols (movie characters) spreading across three reels, boosting winning opportunities.

Three bonus symbols landing on the reels will trigger the Trick or Treat Wheel. On the wheel, there are multiple cash rewards players can claim, as well as two different bonus features that can be triggered: Boogeyman Bonus and Free Spins.

The Boogeyman Bonus will take you inside the house once again and you'll have to fight for your life and try to escape the killer by making right choices. Every correct pick brings a cash reward with it, but if you get caught it's game over. Free Spins are initiated when the wheel stops on one of four characters, and that character will replace all others for the duration of the round. With nine free spins available, this bonus round can produce some handsome payouts.
