Tale of the Tape
Clottey is from Ghana and used to be ranked one of the best in the world. If you don't recognize his name, he was the fighter that went round for round with Manny Pacquiao and kept his gloves above his head the entire fight to which a frustrated Pacquiao threw the infamous double punch. Following that fight, Clottey was put on the bench by Top Rank Boxing not to be seen again for the remainder of his contract. He is back now and says/looks to be in better shape than ever before. He goes by "The Grand Master" and he has never once been knocked out or even rocked by a money shot. He is a very defensive fighter but promises to put on a show tonight.
The much older and more experienced Mundine has had a long and star-studded career. This is a huge fight for Mundine as he just beat Sugar Shane Mosley which threw him into the top 5. If Mundine wins tonight he will be en route to fight the young American star Demetrius Andrade (20-0 13KO) a top contender for the welterweight crown held by Mayweather. Mundine is over 7cm taller than Clottey but it shouldn't matter too much as this fight could go the distance.
