Online sportsbook provides smorgasbord of betting ahead of Man City vs Wigan, on May 11.
Manchester City will face Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday May 11, and leading online sportsbook William Hill has rolled out an incredible 47 betting markets in anticipation of the event.
Cup preview
The 2013 FA Cup Final will mark the 132nd time that the best two teams have faced off to playoff for the world's oldest football cup competition. This year the match takes off at the somewhat controversial time of 5:15pm local time, which the Football Association said would boost television rating.
Man City are no strangers to this stage, having been here nine times before, most recently in 2011 when they defeated Stoke 1-0 to take the cup. Wigan, on the other hand, are in the final for the first time, and will qualify for a Europa League place, even if they lose the match and get relegated (a likely scenario) to the Championship next year.
Betting extravaganza
City, not surprisingly, will start the match as hot favorites, carrying 1/3 odds to win it in 90 minutes and 1/6 to lift the cup. Wigan are 6/1 to win it in 90 and 7/2 to lift the cup, while the odds of a draw and extra time are 10/3.
The big news for punters is that there are dozens of different markets to bet on, spread across a number of categories: match markets such as correct score and half betting; goal markets, such as total match goals and clean sheets; goal times, such as time of first goal; and other markets, including half time correct score, and whether someone will score in the opening five minutes.
