Sprinter Sacre Returns to Action

One of the biggest headlines for this race is the return of Sprinter Sacre, the highest-rated chaser which became the first horse in 14 years to bit three festivals in one season back in the spring of 2013. The 8-year-old Salle Francais has been off the races since December 2013 due to health concerns, but today he returns hoping for a bang.

Sprinter Sacre has won 14 jump races in his career, but punters and bookies are still a little wary of the returning star. Added to the concerns is the forecasted rain which could affect the horse's performance, as trainer Nicky Henderson himself said that he doesn't want to bring the horse to a comeback on heavy ground. Dodging Bullets a Strong Favorite

Should Sprinter Sacre be in his prime today, he'll still have two strong rivals: Dodging Bullets and Twinlight. The 7-year-old Paul Nicholls-trained Dodging Bullets has finished first in the 888 Sport Tingle Creek Chase back in early December. The 8-year-old Willie Mullins-trained Twinlight is also a good bet, having finished first in his last two races (although pulled up at the Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase in early December). Twinlight was 5/1 to win at bet365, and another interesting competitor is the veteran Somersby with 9/2.
