ICONIC21 unveils Packs, a collectible card-themed instant-win game

Packs’ game mechanics offer a different experience from traditional casino games, putting virtual pack openings and card reveals at the center of each round.

What makes Packs different and unique?

The basic idea behind ICONIC21’s Packs reflects the wider popularity of collectible cards and pack-opening systems in gaming. Several features bring this concept to life.

• Game mechanics: Each round in this game starts with opening a virtual pack and revealing cards that determine the outcome. Players choose their play amount and hit the Play button to reveal a pack of five cards. Each pack offers a chance to find something special, including specific card classes and multipliers that affect players’ potential rewards.
• The pack-opening experience: One of the standout features here is the pack-opening experience, which closely resembles opening packs of classic trading cards, stickers, or other collectibles. Players see the virtual pack with ICONIC21’s logo before its top opens and the cards appear on the screen. This builds anticipation and delivers a quick reveal.
• Collections and card rarity: The cards belong to four groups, or collections, with different characteristics, rarity levels, and payout potential. Plus, one unique card—the highest-paying one—doesn’t belong to any group. Common cards don’t have a multiplier and therefore don’t contribute to payouts. There are 240 cards in total.
• Collection bonus: Completing a full collection unlocks a special bonus that offers players an extra reward of up to 3% of their turnover. This adds a collection goal alongside the result of each round.
• Instant-win format: Packs is an instant-win game at its core, keeping sessions short and easy to understand. The outcome is known within a couple of seconds, and any payouts are added to the balance automatically. Instead of following spinning reels and paylines, players watch the cards appear to discover the result.

A familiar experience in a different format

For players familiar with collecting trading cards or stickers, Packs offers a recognizable moment. Namely, this game is about opening a new pack without knowing what is inside. Here, that anticipation becomes part of a quick casino game round.

Its appeal could extend beyond card collectors through a mix of nostalgia, discovery, suspense, and quick gameplay. Once the gameplay starts, attention shifts from the pack itself to the cards inside, their rarity, and whether they help complete a collection.

An interface built around the reveal

Like many instant-win games, Packs has a simple, minimalist design. Betting options and the choice of manual or automatic play sit alongside the main gameplay area, where the pack-opening animation and collectible cards take center stage.

Players can also see their current collection progress and adjust the sound, screen size, and gameplay speed through the interface.

The default card designs include tools, everyday items, airplanes, symbols of luck, and more. These designs can be customized for individual operator brands, so the game’s appearance may vary between casinos.

Packs is now available to ICONIC21’s operator partners. Readers interested in exploring the unique pack-opening experience can also try the demo on OCR Site - here.
