iGaming Business and Microgaming dished out seven awards for excellence in mobile gambling on April 24, at a gala event to mark the end of the four-day mGaming Summit in London.

Paddy Power was the standout performer at the annual awards night, taking out three honors. The Irish bookmaker, online and mobile gaming operator was recognized as the Best Mobile Sports Betting Operator, best for Innovation in Mobile, and operator of the Best Gambling App.
Other companies to be recognized as ledaers in their respective fields included: Best Mobile Casino Operator - mFortune; Best Mobile Bingo Operator - MeccaBingo; Best Mobile Poker Operator - PokerStars; and Best Mobile Billing Application - OpenMarket.
Importance of mobile
iGaming Business' mGaming Summit demonstrated the rapidly growing importance of the mobile gambling industry, bringing together brands, marketing agencies, rights holders, operators, federations, mobile suppliers, payment and billing services to discuss the latest market developments.
Mobile gambling will grow from $13 billion a year in 2012 to an estimated $100 billion by 2017, according to Juniper Research, fueled by a proliferation of casino, betting and lottery apps and sites operated by such leading firms as Paddy Power, All Slots, Bet365 Mobile and William Hill Mobile.
