In-Play Betting: UEFA Champions League FinalPublished May 23, 2013 by OCR Editor
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund kicks off at Wembley Saturday 7:45pm UK time.
The UEFA Champions League Final, European football's biggest annual event, is fast closing in, and little separates German arch-rivals Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund as they prepare to face off against each other in rather unfamiliar territory - London's spectacular Wembley Stadium - on Saturday night.
Underdog Dortmund have confirmed that German international Mario Gotze will miss the final after tearing his hamstring in the second leg of the semi-final win over Real Madrid. With speculation that defender Mats Hummels could also miss with an ankle injury, Bayern are now looking as strong favorites as the odds suggest.
Bundesliga champions Bayern set records this season as they won 29 games and took 91 points to finish 25 points ahead of their closest rival Borussia in the German league. But while Bayern has prolific goalscorers such as Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Muller, Mario Gomez, Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger, Borussia have their own options behind Marco Reus and Jakub Blaszczykowski.
These two clubs have met three times this year for one Bayern win and two draws. Bayern beat Dormund 2-1 in the DFB Supercup on August 12, but more recently they played out 11-1 draws in Bundesliga fixtures played in Munich on December 1 and Dortmund on May 4. Nonetheless, none of these games had the pressure of the Champs League Final, which could prove to be higher scoring.
