Ingolstadt Braces for a Long Siege Against Dortmund

Dortmund is poised for another lopsided victory against Ingolstadt after losing on the road to Hertha (7:30 p.m UK Time).

Dortmund was no more successful than Bayern Munich when they traveled to Berlin for a match against Hertha. In fact, they did much worse and lost the match, which puts their Champions League position in jeopardy. Two teams are within striking distance and unless they manage to turn the ship around quickly, they could find themselves in real trouble. That’s why the visitors desperately need a win over Ingolstadt.

Dortmund Tries to Avenge High-Scoring Draw

In the first half of the German Bundesliga Dortmund lost contact with leading Bayern Munich after splitting points on the road at Ingolstadt. They trailed for the entire match, were never in control and after that fixture they were unable to challenge Bayern for the lead. A victory at home will not bring them close enough to make a late push for the trophy, but would help them consolidate the third place.

Being on the podium is of tremendous importance for Dortmund, since this is the last place that guarantees automatic qualification to the Champions League. Granted the German team has the strength to advance in a playoff round, these are two unnecessary games they don’t want to play.

The Specter of Relegation is Looming

Ingolstadt missed out on a great opportunity to leave the relegation area after splitting points at home with Koln. Their inability to score first and the overall defensive weakness makes them a prime candidate for relegation. A match against Dortmund on the road is not going to help either, since the hosts are expected to come out firing on all cylinders.

The odds for a home win are simply too low to be worth the time and effort, but punters can increase them a little bit. By taking the odds of 7/10 offered by bet365 Sports on Dortmund to win by at least two goals, one can make a nice profit.
