International Champions Cup: AC Milan vs DortmundPublished July 18, 2017 by Sol FH
A huge match and a chance for Milan to show off their new roster against Borussia Dortmund today at 12:20 GMT.
Guangzhou's University Town Sports Center Stadium in China will be full today, when fans pack the huge stadium to watch two of Europe's best go head-to-head in a friendly battle. Dortmund have switched their manager from Thomas Tuchel to the newly acquired former Ajax boss, Peter Bosz. AC Milan has also made a number of changes and it will be a great chance to see what both teams are working with before the new season.
Vincenzo Montella, Head Coach of AC Milan is excited to show off his new roster, but is also worried about how they will fair against such a strong team like Dortmund. This mini-tournament, being played in China, the US and in Singapore features the top teams from Europe and will bring this high-level of soccer competition to fans that usually only get a chance to watch on television.
The Rossoneri have made so many changes to their roster that the rest of Europe has started to take notice. Fabio Borini, Hakan Calhanoglu, Franck Kessie, Mateo Musacchio, and Ricardo Rodriguez are all in the lineup and are expected to play, after their first performance, a 4-0 win over Lugano last week. This will be a much more difficult test, as opposed to last week, as Dortmund are continually one of the strongest teams in Europe.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should be in the lineup for Dortmund today, despite talks that he may be moving to a new club. Mario Gotze, Omer Toprak and Marc Bartra have all made the journey and could all be in the action.
