International Friendly Match Preview: France vs Spain

Sol FH. - March 28, 2017

France host Spain at the Stade de Paris tonight at 20:00 GMT in a rematch of 2014 match in which Les Bleus won.

Two teams in top spot of their respective World Cup Qualifying tables go head to head tonight in an international friendly match. Both France and Spain have played well in their international World Cup Qualifying matches so far and tonight's match will be a good precursor to how they will play against blockbuster teams in the world. The last time that they met was in 2014 in a similar friendly match in which France won 1-0 after a goal from Loic Remy saved the day. Tonight, Spain are set on winning, but playing in France is never easy for them.

France

Over the weekend, France were victorious over their opponents from Luxembourg failed to put up much of a fight. Les Bleus won 3-1 with goals from Antoine Griezmann and a couple from Olivier Biroud were too much to handle. The match was the first time that we saw France's youngest new player, Kylian Mbappe whom will probably be in the lineup against Spain tonight. Expected to sign with big name Real Madrid or Barcelona, Mbappe, the star 18-year old from Monaco could be key in France's World Cup hopes in Russia.

Spain

France's 3-1 victory over Luxembourg was no where near as impressive as Spain's win over Israel in Gijon over the weekend. David Silva, Diego Costa, Isco and Silva Vitolo were all in on the 4-1 victory over the Israelis, a team that many thought could make it to the World Cup. The Spaniards will be without Costa tonight after he suffered a knock in training. Their forward, Alvaro Morata is expected to get the start as he is feeling better and Iago Aspas and Pedro Rodriguez are also set to get back in action.

Online Betting Markets

The odds are in favor of France, due to their home advantage at 2.40. Spain are a dangerous team and they could be the best bet, with bet365 Sports posting odds that could be the key to lucrative cash at 3.10, but a draw should be the smart bet, also at 3.10.
