Leading Juventus take on Napoli, while Atalanta and Fiorentina meet for the second time this week in an unlikely, but promising derby in the Italian Serie A.
Less than 24 hours after the amazing derbies of Saturday, European football prepares for a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon and evening. There are nevertheless exciting games scheduled on the final day of the week and the best of them will be played in the Italian Serie A and the English Premier League.
The Champions League Race Heats up in Serie A
There are many matches scheduled for this Sunday in the Italian Serie A, but two of them stand out in terms of importance and quality of the teams involved. The first will start at 5 PM UK time and will once again pit Fiorentina against Atalanta, after the two teams have split points in midweek. Both are hoping for a Champions League berth, although they have a better chance to play in Europa League.
Atalanta are favorites to win the match and they get even odds of 888 Sport, while punters can expect values of 3/1 on the visitors. The best two teams in Italian football will play later in the day, in a match starting at 7:30 PM UK time. Juventus are underdogs for the first time this season and will get odds of 2/1 against Napoli. They have a comfortable lead and focus on the second leg of the Champions League, so there’s a lot of value in betting on the hosts to win at odds of 3/2.
Liverpool and Everton Play a Highly Emotional Derby
Both teams have secured comprehensive victories midweek, with Liverpool scoring five unanswered goals at home, while Everton won by three goals on the road. Now they have home pitch advantage but they will still start as major underdogs, with odds of 5/1 at Winner Sports. They have a squad at full strength, with no players injured or suspended so these odds are rather tempting. Punters willing to bet on Liverpool shouldn’t expect odds of 7/10 and they are also likely to drop as kickoff draws near.
In the other two matches of the day, Chelsea play on the road against Fulham and are very likely to confirm the excellent odds of 7/10. Meanwhile, Watford will have a much more difficult task at home against Leicester, in a match where they are priced at 7/5 by Intertops, while the visitors get odds of 2/1.
