Italy Has Europe’s Biggest Online Poker Market

Italy was one of the first to regulate poker, and has now overtaken the UK as number one.

Italy's online poker industry is the biggest in the entire European Union now that it has passed the United Kingdom in statistical terms, according to figures published by leading gaming data specialist H2 Capital.

Italy Online Poker Leader

Italy was one of the first major European countries to officially legalize and regulate online poker, casino and slots, although it initially only allowed tournament poker. However, in July 2011 the country introduced laws which allow Italians to play real-money poker online for the first time.

According to H2 Capital, Italy surpassed the UK statistically for online poker in 2010, after the UK had led the continent until the previous year. It predicted that with the continued liberalization of Italy's online gambling, Italian online poker would show substantial year-on-year growth into the year 2014.

Where to Play

TitanBet Poker is one of the best legal options for Italian online poker players. This site rewards all new customers with a first deposit welcome bonus of 200 percent for up to 600 euros. That sure is a lot of money to begin using your poker account.

William Hill Poker is also a favorite for the Italian crowd. One of the most popular sites around the world, they offer a 200% percent new player bonus of up to 1250 euros. And if that's not enough, you can receive over 2,400 euros in first deposit freeroll tokens if you take advantage of all their promos.
