Juventus Ready to Snatch the Italian Super Cup from AC Milan

Juventus and AC Milan lock horns in a match that will decide the name of the last important Italian trophy on Friday (4:30 p.m UK Time).

Juventus has won the Serie A and is very likely to defend its title at the end of the season. They also won the Italian Cup and can now defeat AC Milan in the final act of a competition once again. The winner of the Italian Super Cup will gain more glory than cash, but for a team that has won it all, this is a very important trophy. The match will be played in Doha, so no team will have home pitch advantage.

AC Milan Struggles on the Road

Bringing in so many offensive players has served AC Milan well but the team is showing clear signs of weakness. Recently, they had a hard time scoring goals both at home and on the road and were kept in check by better teams. AS Roma was all over them early on and after the visitors failed to convert the penalty, things took a turn for the worse.

AC Milan has the nasty tendency of failing under pressure, even when exercised by lesser teams. The last home match at home resulted in a victory, but it looked like a possible disaster. They tend to allow plenty of goals, especially early in the game, when Juventus happens to be the most active. There are few situations when AC Milan players find the strength and resilience to rebound against better teams.

No More Injuries for Juventus

The reigning champions had a couple of injury problems in November, after players spent a lot of time on the pitch. Their Champions League adventure will continue in 2017 but all those matches took their toll on the players. Now they can finally field a competitive starting formation, with no players suspended. Motivation is not exactly at its highest, but good enough to provide them with the incentive to win.

In Doha, they will benefit from the support of an enthusiastic crowd, who is more likely to root for them than AC Milan. Bookmakers are cautious and bet365 Sports only offers odds of 4/5 on their victory, but punters should take them nonetheless.
