The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers reports a strong rebound for gaming forces.

A key index for gaming stakeholders is showing signs of a COVID-19 rebound in one of the industry's key sectors.

Huge Sequential Growth

Driving a total 20.3% overall market gain for April, the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers reported that 11 major companies showed “significant stock increases” across the globe.

Signs of Life

Though the drop was 21.1% year-on-year, the sequential monthly gain seems more important for this April, with the biggest gain shown in t he stock price for Aristocrat Leisure Limited (19.4 percent, or a 40.13-point improvement across the AGEM Index.

Total April Gain

The AGEM Factor

The AGEM produces the monthly AGEM Index currently comprising a total of 13 global gaming suppliers throughout the world, with nine suppliers based in the United States and listed on NYSE, Nasdaq or OTC markets; two on the Australian exchange; one in Tokyo, and another in the Taiwan OTC exchange.

AGEM's Unique Model

Upon further examination, the AGEM Index is really something of a futuristic marvel.

The index is determined by computing month-end stock prices, adjusted for dividends and splits for each member company—with data weighted to approximation of market capitalization.

Foreign exchange member market capitalizations are determined by conversion of month-end US dollar-equivalents for comparability purposes.

Since January of 2005, the AGEM Index has been based on a 100-point value

Market Leaders

The AGEM's two leading stock gainers for April included Aristocrat Leisure Limited (19.4 percent), which contributed a 40.13-point improvement in the AGEM Index; and International Game Technology PLC (IGT), which experienced a 26.7 percent stock price jump for an index contribution of 5.82 points.

Outlook

With all three U.S-based stock indices gaining in the double figures, look for AGEM to become an increasingly prominent part of business, industry and iGaming.
