Software giant continues with online casino, bookie after more than decade supply.
Two of the biggest names in the world of online gambling - British bookmaker Ladbrokes and software provider Microgaming - have signed a new deal that will see the latter continue to supply the former into the future.
Partnership ContinuesUnder the terms of the new deal, Microgaming will continue to supply Ladbrokes' online operations with casino and games software. Ladbrokes, which currently takes around $25 billion worth of bets each year, said the deal gives both parties a big upside in revenue growth.
Theirs is one of the oldest partnerships in the industry: Ladbrokes online casino has been powered by Microgaming software since taking its first online bet more than 10 years ago - way back in October 2000.
Rivals SubduedThe Ladbrokes-Microgaming team looked to be under threat as recently as April, when Ladbrokes withdrew from talks it was holding to purchase online rival 888 - a deal that would have seen it drop external suppliers in favour of 888's own software.
However, the sportsbook said in a statement that it is still holding discussions with other suppliers, which will allow it to diversify its software and offerings. Nonetheless, it placed a heavy emphasis on its relationship with Microgaming, which it said allows it to offer its customers the best products possible.
