AIM-listed company agrees on sponsorship deal with leading Italian football club.
Leisure and Gaming (L&G) has just become the leading sponsor of top Italian football team Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo (Palermo) during the 2010/2011 season. Richard Creed, L&G's chief executive stated that he believed his company had "pulled off a significant coup by signing a sponsorship deal with Palermo."
Team players will now sport t-shirts bearing the logo of L&G's Italian subsidiary, Betshop Italia. Betshop country manager Riccardo Tamiro claimed, "Betshop and Palermo have a shared passion for football. We also have a common goal: to create value via a partnership based on respect and mutual benefit. We look forward to playing our
part in Palermo's success, both on and off the pitch."
At present, it is not clear whether the joint venture will also apply during the Italian Cup or other Italian soccer events.
Betshop Announcement
Betshop announced the sponsorship deal through their website and expressed their enthusiasm at the business arrangement. Betshop and Palermo announced that they will "work together to build on shared passion for sports and teamwork."
