Manchester City Seeks Vital Points at White Hart LanePublished September 26, 2015 by Florin P
Manchester City tries to avenge defeat against Londoners when they face another team from the capital this Saturday (11:45 a.m UK Time)
Manchester City missed out on an excellent opportunity to break free at the top of the Premier League standings last weekend. They failed miserably against West Ham and are now in dire need of all three points when they travel to Tottenham. The home side is still invincible this season and despite the slow start they have a reputation of playing their best against top teams.
Watch out for Henry Kane
The 26-year-old striker played in all the games this season yet failed to score a single goal, which comes as a big surprise. Last year he was the brightest star at Tottenham and manager Pochettino has no intention to keep him on the bench despite the slow start.
The starting formation for the home side will be a standard 4-5-1, one that proved its worth over the last three games. These were all wins for Tottenham and the fact that they had to settle for narrow margin victories was not a problem for the pragmatic Argentinean coach. Against Manchester City they will have to defend better than they did in Europa League when a series of individual mistakes led to an early goal.
Head to Head Results Favor City
Manchester City still has a narrow lead over Manchester United, but their city rivals are expected to win with relative ease against Sunderland. Anything short of a victory at White Hart Lane will allow the Red Devils to overtake them and reclaim the lead. West Ham is also firing on all cylinders and faces a weaker team at home, so things will heat up at the top of the Premier League tables.
Overall Tottenham won 32 out of 64 home matches against Manchester City, but they were ridiculed in the most recent games. They lost four matches in a row and the visitors scored an average of four goals per match while allowing just two. Not surprisingly, Bet365 Sports credits the leader with the first chance and offers even odds on Manchester to triumph.
