Marseille and Lyon Square off in a Classic Derby

Southern France is in turmoil as Lyon and Marseille try to begin new winning streaks (8:00 p.m UK Time).
It’s been a while since Marseille and Lyon played in a match that will decide the winner of the trophy in the French first division. None of these two teams have a good claim at the title this season, but they are not willing to give up just yet. Lyon lost many of its offensive players over the last couple of years. They were able to retain Lacazette and this remarkable striker didn’t let them down. Now that he has returned to fitness, Alexandre is ready to overtake Cavani for the lead and help his team in the process.
With Lacazette scoring goals both at home and on the road, Lyon has emerged and the most in-form French teams in all competitions. They did a decent job in the Champions League as well but eventually had to settle for the third place in the group stage. Until Europa League resumes, they need to focus on the domestic championship and this match is of key importance.
Marseille Scraps Wins on the Road
If we were to look only at the numbers, it might seem that Marseille is the hottest team in France. They haven’t lost a match in regulation time before being hammered by Monaco, but struggled to win on the road. The last three victories were all narrow margin ones, even though they played against mediocre teams such as Bastia, Dijon and Toulouse.
