Marvel, Cryptologic End Dispute

End of dispute means Cryptologic will continue producing Marvel slots.

In some good news for fans of comic-themed slot games, leading online gaming software developer Cryptologic has announced the end of its dispute with Marvel Comics.

Cryptologic said in a release on September 30 that it and Marvel "have agreed to modify certain business terms of their license agreement."

Industry Rivalry

The reasons behind the dispute, which began in April when Cryptologic announced arbitration proceedings, were never made public, although it is known that rival software company Playtech has since released several slot games based on their own deal with Marvel, which Cryptologic has released games based on a deal with Marvel's rival DC Comics.

The popularity of comic-themed online slots has grown in recent years with the release of these games, with Cryptologic releasing slots based on such hits as The Incredible Hulk, X-Men and Spiderman, while Playtech has released Punisher War Zone and other successful comics from the Marvel stable.

These and other Marvel games can be found at William Hill Casino.

New Marvel Slots

Under the revised terms of the agreement between Cryptologic and Marvel, Cryptologic can now create games based on various Marvel super heroes including the characters of The Avengers. The agreement has been extended by one year to January 2014, which means more Marvel slots for fans around the world.
