Mega Moolah Jackpot Awards €18.9 Million Breaking the Record

The latest Mega Moolah jackpot was over the €18.9 million mark, surpassing the now-broken Guinness Book record for about €1,000,000 for the largest-ever online jackpot.
In the past few weeks, the anticipation has been building for the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot, which kept growing day after day, eventually surpassing the now broken record of €17.9 million. The wait is finally over as one very lucky player managed to score the main prize on Friday, September 28, becoming €18,915,872.81 million richer.
New Guinness Record
The lucky player who won the Mega Moolah jackpot on Friday was spinning away at Grand Mondial Casino. Once the jackpot had landed, it broke the Guinness book record for the largest online jackpot, which was also set by this popular Microgaming machine back in 2015.
What makes the entire affair even more mind-boggling is the fact the player in question was wagering just 75 cents a spin and it took them fewer than 50 spins to book the record-breaking win. As for the official Guinness record, it still needs to be confirmed and recorded in the days to follow.
Microgaming Paying Close to €1 Billion in Jackpots
To date, Microgaming has paid €948 million in progressive jackpot prizes across their network of jackpot slots, which, apart from Mega Moolah, includes games like Major Millions, King Cashalot, Treasure Nile, and more. The company has thus come very close to breaking the one billion landmark.
Of course, this latest record-breaking win was greeted with a lot of excitement coming from Microgaming who's been closely following the developments over the last few weeks as the Mega Moolah jackpot kept growing.
As is always the case with Microgaming progressives, the lucky winner will receive the entire amount of €18.9 million at once and not in annuities so they have a large windfall of cash coming their way.
So far, there is no additional information about the player who landed the new largest-ever online jackpot.
