Microgaming's Mega Moolah finally pays its progressive jackpot and sets a new record in the process at over £13.2 million.
An online player from the UK has won the biggest progressive jackpot ever awarded by an online slot as the very popular Mega Moolah game paid at €17,879,645.12 last week. This makes it a new record by almost €18,000 from the jackpot won in 2013 from the Mega Fortune slot.
The jackpot on the Mega Moolah title has started from its initial amount of $1 million and it can be found across the Microgaming platform, including at leading casinos like All Slots Casino, Slotty Vegas and Jackpot City Casino.
Another slots player joins the millionaire club
The big win took place on October 7th and Microgaming confirmed the news on the 10th, giving the lucky player a big check with the impressive sum. Jon Heywood, the winner, is a British soldier who went to Afghanistan several times and enjoys playing slot machines from time to time. His jackpot-winning spin only cost 25p and he stated that he couldn’t believe he had won the jackpot. Heywood mentioned that he simply stared at the big number in his online account and didn’t tell anyone about the win until it was officially announced, three days later.
Roger Raatgever, the Microgaming CEO, used to the occasion to congratulate the latest millionaire from an online slot for the life-changing win and added that the firm has paid more than half a billion euros in progressive jackpots since 1998.
Spending €17 million
With everything now settled, Heywood offered a few spending plans he has lined up and they include providing the best medical care for his father, going on a cruise on the Mediterranean and buying a yellow Bentley Continental GT.
The Mega Moolah jackpot has started a new cycle and it continues to grow with every bet placed on the network, already having more than $10,000 on top of the starting million. It only takes one lucky spin to win it all.
