MGA Licensed Operators Implementing Alternative Dispute Resolution by eCOGRA

With their Alternative Dispute Resolution service, eCOGRA will seek to fill the gap for a number of their MGA-licensed partners looking to comply with the Player Protection Directive of 2018.
More than 1,000 online gambling operators licensed by the Malta Gambling Authority (MGA) will start to offer Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provided by eCOGRA. The independent testing laboratory was approved earlier in 2015 by the UKGC to provide these same services at UK-licensed casinos and will now expand to many Malta operators as well.
Meeting New Licensing Requirements
The MGA Player Protection Directive of 2018 dictates online operators are required to provide third-party dispute resolution for their players. eCOGRA will thus step in and provide ADR services for many of its multi-jurisdictional clients licensed by the MGA.
The company has been successfully cooperating with many big names in the industry, such as bwin.party, White Hat Gaming, 888, Unibet, Betway, Mr Green, and Skill on Net. In addition to other services provided by their testing labs, eCOGRA has solved more than 10,000 disputes to date.
Offering Full Suite of Compliance Services
According to eCOGRA's Tex Rees, the company understands how important it is for the operators to be able to come to the company and get the full suite of compliance services covering all bases. The Alternative Dispute Resolution falls well within this scope.
The ADR service is free for the players and the team dedicated to dispute resolution strives to solve any complaints within a week from being received. At the moment, the service is available for more than 1,100 online brands.
eCOGRA was established fifteen years ago with the aim of improving self-regulation in the online gambling space. With dispute resolution services being just a fraction of what the company does, their independent testing lab is staffed with highly experienced professionals from auditing, information security, and other relevant sectors.
Today, the company is the approved testing lab in a number of online gambling jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Sweden.
