MGS 2017 Prepares to Bridge Traditional Continental DividesPublished September 5, 2017 by Lee R
The diverse economic impact of iGaming will be on full display in Macau at MGS.
MGS is coming to show everyone what a smart city is and means.
Innovating Belt and Road
It starts with MGS Summit demonstrating how new innovations in gaming provide impetus for what it calls the Belt and Road journey
Backed jointly by the Macau government and Asia’s 10 largest gaming and entertainment companies, the MGS Entertainment Show is preparing to challenge conventional all across its agenda for the annual event at the Venetian Macao from November 14 to 16.
What a Smart City Is
This year themed “Smart City, Smart Economy” the MGS Summit centralises gaming within the context of the cross-continental trading and investment project Belt and Road project by proactively seeking to determine how gaming can deliver key technological advances and financial solutions to optimise the ambitious economic development plan
Variety of Sessions
MGS will feature nearly 20 sessions on the subject, with individual topics ranging from next-gen technology to government partnerships to economic investment to new territories and artificial intelligence to engaging multi-media millennials.
Attendees include key representatives from the Chinese Government, representatives of the world's largest investment houses and operators from the emerging and established markets.
The Key Panel
The smart city concept begins to take shape in the “Smart Cities and Smart Economies” panel discussion identifying how gaming technology and business operations can fuel growth in both emerging markets such as Japan and the Philippines alongside established hubs such as Macao, while continuing to expand all along the old Silk Road within the broad-based entertainment and gaming industry.
Trade Official Speaks
Supporting trade body MGEMA Chairman Jay Chun called this a crucial time for the international gaming industry, calling “Next-gen technology” the “powerhouse of our business” driving the momentum of the Silk Road economic trading route project.
The MGS Landscape
Chun sees this year’s MGS Summit as a great way to examine “rising forces” within the industry--including new platforms, AI, VR and payment systems which have the combined capability of pioneering “a smarter business ethos across all industries and communities and drive a smarter and healthier economy.”
With a multi-trillion dollar trading plan in construction for the Belt and Road project to expand economies east and west, this year’s MGS show is more ambitious, inspiring, and insightful than ever before.
