The adapted German regulation model has gained a major private commitment.
Another big name private operator is now embracing German regulation.
Adapted Solution Offered
Microgaming announced its support for Germany’s proposed online gaming regulations by committing to provide customers with a solution adapted specifically to the new German gaming environment.
The German Model
The first stage of that adaption includes addressing the online slots requirements, which have been created by Germany's gaming authority as part of a set of new measures promoting social responsibility and minimising gambling-related harm.
Key Protective Limits
Microgaming cites key new directives as the five-second interval between reel spins; monthly deposit caps; and a maximum stake limit as requirements which Microgaming is set to include in German language online gaming products.
Official Licensing Period
The new regime in Germany set to come into effect in July 2021, when after relevant licences can be issued.
Interim Period
The interim period includes an official period of transitional tolerance, during which time operators can engage with the German market if they are in compliance with the new regulatory measures, as kind of a testing period in which those who demonstrate inability to comply are prone to exclusion from the subsequent official licensing procedure.
Microgaming Prepares
Microgaming will launch its aforementioned solution by 15 October within the German Toleration Regime period, to take advantage of the window the German authority is affording them to be fully prepared when official regulation begins in July.
Microgaming Spokesperson Speaks
Microgaming Commercial Director Leon Thomas emphasized the Microgaming priority of social responsibility:
“Microgaming broadly supports the regulatory changes in Germany, where we will be providing our customers with a solution that includes some of our most popular and successful titles – long before the new gambling laws coming into force next year.”
Leading Titles Offered
German customers can look forward to over 150 games Microgaming is set to provide in the new market, including leading titles Book of Oz (Triple Edge Studios), 9 Masks of Fire (Gameburger Studios) and Bonanza (Big Time Gaming).
Outlook
With key providers establishing public commitment to the new German regulation, this shows out as an effective opening gesture in putting iGaming's best foot forward to adapt to EU's largest and most long-awaited market.
