Microgaming Supports Heart Screening

Microgaming recently granted a considerable donation to a foundation which seeks to raise the funds necessary to provide screening for all men and women between 14 and 35 on the Island of Man in order to prevent Sudden Death Syndrome.

The Craig's Heartstrong Foundation was set up in 2005 following the death of a Craig Lunt who was only 25 years old when he died of a previously unidentified heart defect.

Microgaming donated £1,504 to support their worthy cause and these funds were raised during the company's annual staff party. Microgaming is the world's leading online gaming software developer.

Microgaming's CEO, Roger Raatgever, delivered the cheque to Craig's mother, Paula Lunt, who established the foundation herself in 2005.

Mr Raatgever said: "Our prize draw held at the annual staff party is hugely popular with staff, as it gives them the opportunity to raise money to benefit local charities. The Heartstrong Foundation is a very popular recipient."

Similarly, in appreciation for the kind gesture, Ms Lunt is reported as saying that, "Our Foundation could not survive if it were not for the generous donations that companies such as Microgaming provide. We are extremely grateful to Microgaming and their staff for their kind donation."

Microgaming is the world's largest provider of online gaming software. It introduced its first online casino in 1994, and currently provides the platform and games to over 160 casinos.
