MLB Action: Yankees vs. AstrosPublished October 6, 2015 by Sol FH
The New York Yankees vs Houston Astros live at 1:00 UK, with attractive pre-game MLB betting markets.
It has been a wild regular season and fans and players alike are ready for post season play. Tonight marks the first of the playoffs with the American League Wild Card game from New York, pitting the Yankees vs the Astros. This best of one game will be the most important match-up for either of these teams so far this year and they will be sending their aces to the mound.
The Yankees were lucky enough to get home field advantage due to a loss by the Astros against the Diamondbacks last week. New York has been awful since August having gone just 13-19 at home and losing their last six out of seven games. If the Yankees want any chance of winning tonight's game, they will need to get on their bats and become the Yankees of the post-season that so many know and love.
On the Mound
The Astros will be throwing their Cy Young hopeful Dallas Keuchel. The Yankees know that he is going to be a tough pitcher to go up against, with A-Rod quoted saying "He's one of the best," in a recent interview. Keuchel has been an effective weapon against all teams this year and went 16 scoreless innings against New York this season.
With limited choices in their bullpen, the Yankees will go with Masahiro Tanaka to start the game. Tanaka only started in one game against the Astros this season and he allowed six runs in the five innings before he was pulled. Tanaka is sure he can do better, "I just want to go out there and do my best, be able to contribute to the team’s win so that we can advance to our next step.”
