MLB Game Preview: Yankees vs White Sox

The first place New York Yankees try to extend their lead in the AL East and face the struggling White Sox tonight at 1:00 GMT.

With just two weeks left in the first half of the MLB regular season, before the mid-season All-Star weekend things are still very tight across the American League and no team has really pulled that far away from .500. After a few dismal season, it does look like the New York Yankees will be a team to beat in the AL East and still sit in first place. The White Sox are on the other side of the equation, in last place in the AL Central and continue to lose games to teams that they should be able to beat.

On the Mound

Both teams are starting with left-handed pitchers. The Yankees are throwing Jordan Montgomery against the Sox, as the young gun has gone 3-0 in all his June starts and has 71 k's on the year. The White Sox are going with David Holmberg, whom is 1-1 with an ERA of 2.84 in June. This may give the White Sox the advantage, as they only have one left-handed batter in their lineup and that is their catcher, Omar Narvaez, and it doesn't even look like he will be starting, as right-hander, Kevan Smith will most-likely get the start.

Games between the Yankees and the White Sox are always a blast to watch and right now, the odds are very attractive for punters to test their skill against. The Yankees are obviously the favorite to win, but with the Sox trying to pull as close to .500 as they can before the All-Star game, you can bet they will be swinging for the fences.

MLB Betting Markets

bet365 Sports has the Yankees as favorites to win outright at 1.62, while the Chicago White Sox are at 2.40. Those pre-game odds could be mixed with a live in play market that bet365 Sports will be offering throughout the game.
